Dune Bashing in Wahiba Sands

Running south from the Eastern Hajjar Mountains to the Arabian Sea, the Wahiba Sands, described a sea of sand, stretch almost 200 kms in length and about 100 kms in width. The dunes rise above 100-150 meters in different shades and shifting sands.

Desert Safari in Salalah

This special excursion starts with a visit to the ‘Lost City of Ubar’ (UNESCO World heritage site), 175km away from Salalah (approximately 2-hour drive). Guests can then proceed to the Empty Quarter to experience the “biggest sand desert in the world”. The safari guides takes guests on the top of the dunes, for a breathtaking overview of the vast desert. On the way back to Salalah, we drive into Wadi ‘Dawka’ (UNESCO World heritage site) known as the ‘Frankincense Wadi’, which houses the biggest collection of naturally grown Frankincense trees in the region.

The Wahiba Sands Desert Crossing takes you on a full-day adventure from Bediya to the Arabian Sea. Starting in the morning, guests follow the guide in the 4×4 Jeep (with a rooftop tent). While navigating sand dunes, guests will feel like they’re sailing.
