According to the Emirates Golf Federation, there are twenty-one golf clubs in the UAE's sheikhdom, and the number is only growing. The best of these golf courses host some of the most prestigious golfing events in the world.
Emirates Golf Club
It is styled in the fashion of a Bedouin tent and its layout is literally carved through the desert, with narrow green ribbons of fairway winding their way through natural slightly undulating terrain. The Majlis course opened for play in 1988 and was the first 18-hole grass golf course to open in the Middle East. It has a challenging par 72, 7,301-yard layout, and has developed a worthy reputation worldwide as a testing layout for even the best golfers. The Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies' Masters are held here.

Yas Links Abu Dhabi is the first true links golf course in the Middle East and the home of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship – a Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour. The 18-hole championship course, designed by top golf course designer Kyle Phillips, attracts experienced golfers from all over the world, while the 9-hole par 3 course and practice facilities are ideal for all abilities.
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
This "golfer’s paradise" has well-groomed fairways and greens and the challenge to par is tough from the tournament tees. The creek affects four holes – including the 6th, where golfers must tee off from a platform on the water, while artificial lakes add to the difficulty of other holes. The views from the course are pretty spectacular, no matter where you stand, as you look out at the water, the city’s skyscrapers, and the sail-shaped clubhouse which acknowledges the connection to the creek.
Jumeirah Golf Estates
